HG Wallpaper Remover - 500ml

HG Wallpaper Remover (500ml) is a super-concentrated, highly efficient stripping solution designed to dissolve all types of wallpaper backing adhesives and paste quickly without needing an electric steamer. A single 500ml bottle covers approximately 100m² to 200m² of surface area, depending on the wallpaper thickness and dilution ratio used.

Step-by-Step Application Guide

Preliminary Surface Treatment

• Absorbent Paper: Standard paper and absorbent wallpaper require no advance preparation.
• Vinyl, Metallic, or Washable Paper: Score or scuff the surface heavily using coarse sandpaper or a wallpaper scoring tool to break the water-repellent seal.
• Strippable Paper: Peel away the top plastic or vinyl layer entirely before treating the remaining paper backing.

Mixing

• Measure the required dose based on the table above and stir thoroughly into 10 litres of clean water

Application

• Apply the mixture generously using a pressure spray, plant spray, large wallpaper brush, or sponge.Wet the wallpaper completely. If the paper begins to dry or turn matt after a few minutes, reapply the solution immediately.

Dwell Time

• Allow the mixture to soak into the glue for 5 to 15 minutes.

Removal

• Loosen a top corner using a wallpaper stripping knife or putty knife.Peel the saturated wallpaper downward in zig-zag motions, attempting to pull it away in complete, unbroken widths.

• Wear protective rubber gloves and safety goggles to prevent skin irritation or accidental eye splashes during mixing and application.
• Lay down plastic dust sheets to protect flooring, carpets, and skirting boards from excess fluid runoff.
• Switch off the electrical mains for any wall sockets or switches located in the immediate splash zone before wetting the walls
